RIDE ACROSS ROMANIA (RAR) is an ultra-distance brevet in the BRM1200+ category of endurance cycling, organized in Romania by Randonneurs Romania and the Adevaratii VeloPrieteni Romania Association, under the license of Randonneurs Mondiaux, and conducted in accordance with this Regulation.

The RAR route, with a total length of 2,666 km and an elevation gain of over 37,000 meters, crosses 23 counties in Romania, 12 transalpine roads, and more than 100 climbs. In order to obtain the brevet certification, it must be completed within a maximum time of 368 hours. The first edition of the ultra-brevet will start on July 4, 2026. Registration will take place between April 15 and May 31, 2026. The conditions for participation in the event are set out in the Regulation.

Registration is completed by filling in the participation form and paying the corresponding fee.

The official start and finish are located in VALEA LUNGĂ (Dâmbovița County); however, participants also have the possibility to start from any of 22 additional control points, each corresponding to one of the counties crossed, namely: Curtea de Argeș, Cisnădie, Obârșia Lotrului, Novaci, Sarmisegetuza, Gărâna, TransLuncani (km 943), Slatina de Mureș, Stațiunea Vârtop, Geogel, Mihai Viteazu, Sărmășel, Bistrița, Pasul Prislop, TransRarău (km 1687), Stațiunea Durău, Miercurea Ciuc, Oituz, Zagon, Sărata Monteoru, Slănic Prahova, and Poiana Brașov, only in the direction of the homologated route, namely clockwise.

The route includes all transalpine roads in Romania: Transfăgărășan, Transalpina, TransVulcan, TransSemenic, TransLuncani, TransZarand, TranUrsoaia, TransApuseana, TransRarău, TransCeahlău, TransCislău, and TransBucegi.

The event is organized every four years (2026, 2030, etc.).
