MUNTENIA EPIC TOUR Randonneur (METR) is a BRM1200+ endurance cycling brevet, organized in Romania by Randonneurs România and the Adevărații VeloPrieteni România Association, under a Randonneurs Mondiaux license, as part of the ROMANIA EPIC TOUR event (an event held in years when CONTURUL ROMÂNIEI is also scheduled in the BRM1200+ calendar).

The METR route, 1,206 km long with over 7,000 meters of elevation gain, to be completed within a maximum of 90 hours, is a loop tour around the perimeter of the historic province of Muntenia.

The start and finish are in Romania’s capital, with 15 intermediate control points in localities along the perimeter of Muntenia:

The first edition – the pilot edition of the ROMANIA EPIC TOUR event, on the METR route – took place on 6 September 2021, in a fully self-supported format, with two cyclists earning the brevet:

The second edition of the ROMANIA EPIC TOUR event is planned for 2029, with participants choosing one of the 3 routes corresponding to the 3 great historic Romanian provinces, Valahia, Moldova and Transilvania, namely VALAHIA EPIC TOUR, MOLDOVA EPIC TOUR and TRANSILVANIA EPIC TOUR.
